Pro Tip: Click here to get Password Assistance and update your log in details. A one-time password gets sent to you via email or SMS. After you authenticate your request, you're taken to a portal to provide your new password.

Amazon's Password Assistance feature gets used to update your log in details. If you've forgotten your password or want to change it to make it stronger, you use this portal to do it. Find Password Assistance on Amazon's Customer Service page.

You're required to fill in the email address or phone number relevant to your account. You need to have this information on-hand to use Password Assistance.

If you don't know which details you used for your Amazon account, then contact Customer Service. A rep is then assigned to assist you in regaining access to your account.

6 Easy steps to reset your password

  1. Go to Password assistance.
  2. After you get prompted, enter your email address or mobile phone number. Use the same information that you used to sign up for your Amazon account.
  3. Click 'Continue' and wait for a one-time password. It gets sent to your email or cellphone (you're able to choose your verification method)
  4. Fill your OTP in and authenticate your request and click 'Continue'
  5. Create your new password (write it down so you don't forget, and keep it simple)
  6. Save your new password and use it to sign in to all of your Amazon-related accounts.

Keep in mind that Amazon.com never sends out emails asking for your password, credit card, or bank account information. If you receive an email like this, report it to Amazon and don't open it.
