How does preorder work on  Amazon?

You can pre-order items on Amazon, allowing you to order not-yet-released items in advance. A pre-ordered item will ship when it's released or in advance of its release date, and your card will typically not be charged until the item has shipped or a few days before. You will receive email updates, as per a regular Amazon order, and can check your order's progress at any time.

Release-date delivery is available at checkout when both the item and your delivery address are eligible.

To place an order;

  • Place an  eligible item in your shopping cart and click “Proceed to checkout.”

  • Select an eligible shipping address.

For more information, go to “ About Release-Date Delivery.”

  • Select “Release-Date Delivery” or “Get it on its release day.”

Making changes to your order may affect your order's eligibility. If you need to change your order, Amazon recommends placing a new pre-order for the item and canceling your previous order.
