Pro Tip: Select “Pre-order now” when viewing an item on Amazon that hasn’t been released yet to reserve your copy of that item quickly.
When you find an item that has yet to be released, Amazon gives you the option of pre-ordering it. Follow this method for the best way to make an Amazon pre-order. First, you need to be logged in to Amazon, either on your phone or on their website. Then, use the search bar at the top of the page to find the item you’re looking for. When viewing the item, the purchasing options on the right side of the page will appear slightly different. You will find two options: “Pre-order: Add to Cart” and “Pre-order now”.
The first option adds the item to your cart, allowing you to continue shopping. When you’re ready, click on “Cart” at the top of the page and then select “Proceed to Checkout”. You will be asked for a shipping location and payment. Once the order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email. Finally, a few days before the item ships, your Amazon pre-order charge will take place on the payment you selected.
Selecting the “Pre-order now” option will take you directly to payment and shipping instead of allowing you to shop more on the site.
Making an Amazon pre-order, is as simple as purchasing any active item on Amazon. Once you are logged in to Amazon, use the search bar to find the item you are looking for. When viewing the item, the buttons to make your purchase on the right will say “Pre-order: Add to Cart” and “Pre-order now”. Click either one of these options and use your preferred method of payment and shipping. The Amazon pre-order charge takes place a few days before the item is shipped. In other words, you are not charged immediately when pre-ordering items.
