There are many reasons your Kindle Paperwhite won't charge. It could be due to a faulty cable, or some simple technical issues. The best way to fix it is to restart your device by pressing the 'power' button down for 20 seconds. If this doesn't work, then lay it down for half an hour whilst connected to its charger. When the wait is over, restart it again.

Kindle Paperwhites (purchase from Amazon here) are fantastic devices that give you all the benefits of Kindle. However, these devices sometimes encounter issues with their charging systems.

If your Kindle still doesn't charge restarting then try the following methods:

  • Ensure that your plug point is working
  • Make sure your charger is working by trying to charge another device. If it's not working, use a different cable
  • Check your Kindle Paperwhite's charging port to make sure it's clean and doesn't have something jammed in it
